The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) is a small independent agency of the United States government that administers, operates, and maintains permanent U.S. military cemeteries, memorials and monuments both inside and outside the United States.  Several of these sites were established after WW II and host the remains of thousands of American dead and memorialize thousands more of the missing.  Many members of the 385th are interred and/or memorialized at this sites.
